Malaga Springs Winery
Owned and operated by Al and Kathy Mathews, a building contractor and interior designer, Malaga Springs Winery was built, planted, and extensively landscaped from scratch. Their wines are made in small batches and matured in oak barrels, not tanks.Malaga Springs emphasize quality and beauty in their award-winning wines and the atmosphere of their tasting room, set in the majestic views of the valley.
The area got its name from grapes planted in the late 1800’s as the railroad to Seattle was constructed. After a long search, Al and Kathy found original grape plants, took cuttings, and are now attempting a small vineyard to produce what would have been the local wine many years ago.
Wines Produced: Blanc de Noir, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Sangiovese, Syrah, Zinfandel,Red Blends
"This place is amazing and the owners are wonderful people. They have a gorgeous tasting room with fantastic wines. My favorite winery!!" -CC, Google Review
Producing a limited run of about 600 cases a year allows Crayelle Cellars to get to know most of their customers by name. For owners Craig and Danielle Mitrakul, this is the beauty of wine: the conversations it sparks, the meals it enhances, and the people it brings together.
At Crayelle that wine starts with grapes from the Ancient Lakes of the Columbia Valley AVA. After a small lifetime of exploring and making wine in various grape growing regions around the globe, Craig and Danielle settled in Washington precisely because the growing conditions are perfect for producing grapes that fit their style (fruity, refreshing whites and elegant blended reds). Crayelle is the creative expression of the wine Craig and Danielle love to drink; a subtle, European-style wine that finishes as elegantly as it starts, and ages extremely well. Wine with balance, character, and longevity.
The tasting room is located in Cashmere, a 20 minute drive west of Wenatchee. This is a great stop on your way into Wenatchee or on the route home.
Wines Produced: Albariño, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, Tempranillo, Red Blends
"Amazing! The name of the winery is actually a mixture of the owners (super cute) names. Their wines are great, made in small batches. An awesome local winery!" -SK, Yelp Review
