With over 120 wineries and a charming downtown full of restaurants and shops, Walla Walla is one of the most popular Washington Wine regions.

Walla Walla is situated in the golden hills of the Palouse at the base of the Blue Mountains, an easy four hour drive from Seattle or Portland. There are dozens of tasting rooms directly downtown and within walking distance from major hotels or vacation rentals, making for an easy day of walkable touring. The vineyard estates are equally close, with the majority of wineries and tasting rooms within a fifteen minute driving radius of the city center.

This historic town is simply oozing with art, culture, beautiful Victorian homes, great restaurants, and excellent tasting rooms. We've picked two tasting rooms in downtown Walla Walla and two on vineyard estates just out of town for you to visit on this itinerary! We would recommend starting with the two vineyard properties first (Dusted Valley & Walla Walla Vintners) and then heading downtown for the next two (Barons Winery & Seven Hills Winery).

Dusted Valley

Celebrating 17 years in business, brothers-in-law Chad Johnson and Corey Braunel focus their winegrowing philosophies in the vineyard with sustainable practices, low yields and minimalistic winemaking. The resulting wines offer a sense of place and showcase their estate vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley and other premier vineyards throughout the state. Dusted Valley hosts a tasting room on the south side of Walla Walla. Here, the sun drenches the valley and the moon shines over the Blue Mountains. This is Washington wine country at its best, and you are encouraged to visit the tasting room and relax on the patio – the perfect place to picnic, drink some vino, and take it all in.

Seven Hills Winery

Established in 1988, Seven Hills Winery is one of the founding estates of Walla Walla Valley. As pioneers who first championed the region, their heritage is built on longstanding relationships with the most renowned growers in the Northwest and a deep knowledge of the land. Seven Hills is dedicated to crafting memorable Walla Walla wines, with emphasis on red varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec.

The Seven Hills tasting room is located in downtown Walla Walla in their historic working winemaking facility. This historic brick building sets the stage for your tasting of current release Seven Hills wines!
