"Great wines and lovely tasting room! Such a fun weekend trip!" ED, Google Review
"My new favorite tasting room! Perfect place for groups, newcomers to town, or a chill afternoon of learning about wine." -SB, Yelp Review
Founded in 2011 by winemaker and owner Andrew Latta, Latta Wines is the product of years of sweat equity. He was born and raised in Kentucky, the restaurant world his path to wine. While developing award-winning wine programs, Washington State stood out to Andrew among the emerging and traditional wine-growing regions. He spent years scouring the geologically diverse soils of Eastern Washington before jumping into his first harvest in Walla Walla. That led to an initial release of two very special wines, then four, and so on.
Latta Wines puts uncommon varietals from the most unique vineyards in Washington State on center stage. The extremely small-production, mostly Rhone offerings are put forward from sustainable vineyard sites. The wines are fermented with native yeast and aged in mostly neutral french barrique and puncheon.
Varietals Produced: Roussanne, Red Blends, Grenache, Mourvedre, Malbec
"Excellent wines across the board, friendly and relaxed environment!" AG, Google Review
"Nice and sultry interior. They keep the lights low, the space with minimal furniture. Service was great, dog friendly. And the wine? Delicious!" -EE, Yelp Review
Nine Hats Wines
Launched in 2007, Nine Hats Wines is a sister-brand of the popular Walla Walla winery Long Shadows. Nine Hats was originally inspired by Long Shadows’ team of nine internationally renowned vintners. In the beginning, there was one Nine Hats wine, a red blend created from Long Shadows’ declassified barrels to support the winemakers’ ongoing, strict selection process for their signature wines. The overwhelming success of the first red wine led to the expansion of the project, with Nine Hats now showcasing a portfolio of nine uniquely sophisticated wines.
The wines are styled for quality and everyday enjoyment. Nine Hats recently opened their tasting room in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood in the heart of South Seattle. Just a mile and a half from Safeco Field, Nine Pies Pizzeria adjoins the tasting room, offering New York-style pizzas by the slice, whole pies, pasta, and more.
Wines Offered: Red Blend, Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Rosé
"The people at Nine Hats Wines are knowledgeable, excited about their awesome new space (piano included), and passionate about sharing the experience with others; and the wine is great!" BL, Google Review
