A Wine Tasting Itinerary on Bainbridge Island
Accessible by bridge and boat, Bainbridge Island is a picturesque destination for lovers of art, culture, nature, and, of course, wine!
Only a 35 minute ferry ride from Seattle, Bainbridge Island makes for a great weekend getaway or just an afternoon visit away from the big city. Home to seven wineries, the three featured here offer tastings both at their inner-island wineries and at the downtown tasting rooms, just a short walk from the ferry launch.
For the best experience, we recommend taking the time to tour the winery properties further inland. You'll get a glimpse of the winemaking process and avoid the crowds that can congregate near the busy Winslow Way / ferry terminal.

Bainbridge Vineyards
Bainbridge Vineyards was established in 1977 and became Certified Organic in 2014. Their 10-acre estate vineyards include 10 European wine grape varieties carefully selected for their ability to thrive in the Maritime Northwest. Bainbridge Vineyards produces delicate and crisp white wines, complex red wines, and one of a kind rosé.
Bainbridge Vineyards practices safe and sustainable farming practices including the use of draft horsepower, hand-tended vines, dry farming, biodynamic practices, and minimal intervention in the winery. Betsey Wittick reopened the vineyards and winery under a new women-run cooperative ownership in 2013. She is the grape grower, wine maker, head owner and the heartbeat of Bainbridge Vineyards. Visit Bainbridge Vineyards for organically produced wines, driven by a woman owned and operated team that highlights cool climate French and German varietals.
Wines Produced: Madeleine Angevine, Müller-Thurgau, Siegerrebe, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Zweigelt, Dunkelfelder, Regent, Agria, Garanoir
"This place is beautiful and chalk full of amazing history and great people doing great things for the community and planet. AND they have really really great wine! Organic and biodynamic practices to boot. They frequently have fun events and classes too." JE, Google Review

Eagle Harbor Wine Co.
Established in 2005 by Cynthia and Hugh Remash, Eagle Harbor Wine Company is a standout among Bainbridge Island’s celebrated wineries. What began as a hands-on, artisan endeavor influenced by old world wine styles, Eagle Harbor Wine Co. has grown since in size, complexity, and variety.
Visit this contemporary winery for a tour of their production, and see how the wine gets from Washington vineyards to your glass. Or, stop in at Eagle Harbor's Winslow Way tasting room location downtown, and sample their hand-crafted, award-winning red and white wines.
Wines Produced: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah, Red Blends, White Blends, Viognier
"We had an absolutely fantastic time at Eagle Harbor! Both the winemaker and the guide, Chip, were so informative about the winemaking process and the selection. We learned so much, had some of our favorite wine we've ever had on Bainbridge, and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys great wine and conversation." -AT, Google Review
